Writing Basics: Rest

Writers, like other artists, performers, and creative people, need more down time than the average.

Physiological studies suggest that for optimal productivity, seventeen hours out of every twenty-four should be spent resting.

"Imitate the action of the tiger."

I must agree with the general reincarnation theorem: To come back as a well-loved housecat would be to acheive Nirvana.

Seriously. Housecats have it good. Fresh food, clean water, and a warm bed whenever you want it. Not to mention the free laps that you come across now and again.

Actually this is very timely for me. I've been exhausted lately. More rest is just what the gods ordered!
