Even though we've talked about this subject many times, you can read my take on the age old question "Where do you get your crazy ideas?" over at Something Wicked.
I'm finally working on a short-story that's due on the anthology editor's desk in a matter of days, and I'm tackling the science fictional trope of aliens for the very first time. It's hard to believe that as long as I've been writing SF, I've never written about aliens. "The Other," yes, but never the little, green men from Mars types. However, I've sat and listened to plenty of panelists at various SF conventions complain about other author's depiction of aliens... so I'm a little nervous. Any advice?
