Monday Morning WIP

I just finished turning the soil for a late-in-the-season garden project. My five year old son wants to have a victory garden like the Obamas, although, really, he explained that what he really wants in several acres of corn... but he has to make due with a small square of former yard for a few sunflowers, carrots, corn, peas, and beans.

After I finish posting here, I plan to continue work on my alter ego's young adult novel (due October 15) and enjoy the chilly, rainy day with some tea and toast, perhaps.

How about you?

Bill, you have a big day ahead, I see.

And Jon, what? You never complain when Kelly goes on about his lay-about life! :-)

Just got back from a convention where I marketed the hell out of my anthology - and have spent all day today doing more of the same.

I just figured out a way to fit the local St. Paul roller derby into my book. Tee-hee. (And I also realized I know someone affiliated with a team in said derby, so even better. :)

Douglas, Heather J. over here at the Death Pixies critique group knows folks on the team. I'm sure she would introduce you.

Laura: thanks! I'm not sure how big of a role this is all going to play, so I am keeping it simple at the moment. It's more setting/backdrop than story right now. But if it balloons, or I need to add fine detail (which could easily happen), I'll be sure to ask for an introduction.

Of course, at the rate I'm getting offers here and elsewhere to intro me to Roller Girls and other derby folks, I may have to write another book with that as one of the key elements, just to take advantage of the wealth of resources. :D

You're right, Lyda... I'll work hard at correcting that.
