I read the Amanda Palmer thing...and first..I think she needs a dose of sedative. The problem she describe isn't limited to artists. It happens everywhere and all aspects of life. I recently open my own business, I'm dead broke, in hock up to my eyebrows, and I've got hats extended in my direction from everyone for free donations and at the same time people complaining that my product is too expensive when it's of equal quality and cheaper than the competitions. You just simply get over it, do what you can, and move on.
