I'm so pissed off about this. I'm just glad that none of the SF/F publishers have tried this foolishness.
Torstar is circling the drain-- I saw this on Pub Rants and then checked their financials.
This attempt at vanity publishing is their last hope. I was pissed off about it, too-- but when you have 500 million dollars in debt and your only profitable dividion is Harlequin... what you gonna do?
Even then, conning people shouldn't be the answer...
