In case you want to follow all the bits make sure to look at http://rachelmanija.livejournal.com for the other author's posts and in particular her ETA at the end of this post http://rachelmanija.livejournal.com/969918.html where she specifically debunks the publisher's continual harping on the fact that they didn't go with either of their established agents. (One is non-fic only and they wanted an agent to represent the partnership equally and not be obviously biased in one author's favor)
