Thanks, Lyda. You have no idea how helpful all of this advice is. I would never have guessed that there was a preferred format for SF submissions. I was just going to follow MLA rules.
Courier??? The editor I work with want Times New Roman.
Some editors only take manuscripts mailed in. Some only take emails. Mine changed from send as a .doc file to send as a .rtf file.
I think the key here is professionalism. As part of the query process ask not only, would you like a manuscript like this, but how would you like that delivered to you?

A publisher I submitted to last Fall accepted only Times New Roman, 10pt, 1.5 line spacing. I was blind by the time I reformatted that manuscript.
