Monday Morning WIP Open Thread

Morning folks,

Writing, I've finally landed on the continent and am a hundred or so words away from the Russian sorceress. I hope she's as interesting as I've been anticipating. If not, I'm going to have a problem.

Painting, finished with the high trim stuff yesterday which means the ladder can go back home soon. I've still got some lower trim to second coat and maybe the side of the dormer above the bay window to do--though that might wait till next spring and in any case I can use our ladder for that.

Pecking away at a structure and story class post for endings. I may get that up this week some time. We'll see. It depends entirely on the novel progress.

Progress report for the week that was: 6,000 words last week which means I've got ~35 days and 34,000 words to go. High trim, check. Oh, and I managed to knock off 5 of the 30 or so pounds I should probably not be carrying. I haven't seen the south side of 190 for 25 years but what the heck, I'm going to shoot for 185. I'll probably crack and settle for 195.

What are you all doing this morning

I am working on two assignments. One that is a case study and almost finish, and one that is still in the research stage. I'm looking forward to having both 'done'.

Today I'm in 2-1/2 hours of meetings (schduled so far), half an hour of which I knew about before I got to work. And my administrative assistant, who is the only person besides me who knows a few things go together, is out.

In short, I'm spinning my wheels while fervently looking forward to dinner/drinks with Corvus tonight.

My stepdad had shoulder surgery this morning. So I was awake at 5:30 and hopping the 6:30 bus downtown - and I don't do daytime well. LOL Got back home a few minutes ago. The surgery was more extensive and invasive than the doctor had hoped, but he cleared out a butt load of scar tissue and made some other repairs. We're still waiting for my stepdad to wake back up.

One thing and one thing only on my mind this week: the MOC program book.

And, of course, in my *spare* time, catching up on my Wrydsmiths reading.
